History

Inspired by the experience of Michael Oliver with the Republic of Minerva, in the spring of 2002 six high school students, admirers of ancient culture created Timeria to promote activities related to Hellenism and the Roman reconstructionism.

Kingdom of Timeria

From 22 May to 1 November 2004 Timeria was a monarchy.
In the course of the monarchy two major political parties were formalized, the Radical Humanist Party and the Centre Right.
In this period Timeria developed its first institutions and joining to the United Micronations (2004) on 28 September 2004.

Proclamation of the Senatorial Republic of Timeria

In the elections of 1 November of 2004 the Radical Humanist Party obtained an absolute majority with 5 seats, and the Centre Right 1 seat. The change to the republic did not include any modification in the national symbolism. Both the flag and the coat of arms remained the same, as there were no alternative proposals and all the political parties reached an agreement to keep the Timeria tradition alive. The Senate was not modified either, nor its structure.

First Senatorial Republic of Timeria

On the 24th of March 2005 the government opened a Timeria blog in WordPress, which has been active ever since. The chosen domain was timeria.wordpress.com. With the arrival of Timeria on the Internet, the debate soon arose about the need or not to welcome Timeria citizens who did not visit the physical territories, and about what kind of participation the so-called "digital" citizens could have.
Faced with the need to welcome new citizens, the Senate drafted a new Constitution, which was the third in the history of Timeria. The new document recognized the figure of the "digital citizen" as those people who were Timerians, even if they did not want or have the option to visit the physical territories. They were also recognized as full citizens, including the possibility of running for public office.
On 1 June 2006, Ilthio Greek Vahal was elected President of the Republic. His administration faced the first crisis of the nation as a result of the reduction of investments and the abandonment of activity by the unemployed. The Vahal Administration approved liberalization reforms to reduce regulations and offered free territories to traders on weekends.
In the summer of 2006, there were problems caused by an expelled citizen, Rummel, who with a group of friends sabotaged water tanks and threw stones at Timerian citizens when they held activities in the national territories.
The First Republic experienced the consequences of the bursting of the real estate bubble in Spain, which affected the whole nation. The crisis caused the majority of Timerians to leave the nation, including some of those who had contributed the most in the Digital Generation.
The Senate was dissolved and elections were called for 10 August 2008. The National Party won but was not appointed president, and elections were held again on 22 August 2008, with the Socialist Party winning. President Wiew Wers dissolved the First Republic on 2 September 2008. Timeria would not be active again until 2013.
Digital Generation
The members of the "Digital Generation" were the first Timerian citizens to participate in the nation from 2007 to 2008 exclusively through the Internet, without ever having visited the Timeria territories.
The digital generation contributed a lot to the development of Timeria, and some of the digital ones went down in the history of the cultural nation for their great contributions. One of them was Abraham Jasbleidy, who wrote the document "Declaration for the Formation of a Digital World", where he advocated the creation of a system of cultural nations with a leading role in the Internet above the physical territories.

Second Senatorial Republic of Timeria

On 15 April 2013, Timeria returned to activity, holding elections for the Senate.
On 1 May, the National Library, the Gallery of Visual Arts and the Academy of Timeria were created as institutions to guarantee the custody and dissemination of the artistic and literary creations of Timerian authors.
The participation of the Timerians during the Second Republic gradually decreased. The Government was not able to create motivation or organize events to attract new citizens or to keep regulars active. On 14 September 2014, President Wers again dissolved the nation.

Third Senatorial Republic of Timeria

On 9 January 2015, the activity of the nation was resumed and elections to the Senate were called for the 10 January.
In 2015, several PDF documents were presented in which data was collected on Arithmetic, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, History of Timeria and Literature. With them the first training courses for Timerian citizens were organized and thus the Basic Education of Timeria was born.
On 15 May 2015 the Academy of Timeria presented the first Compendium of History on Timeria. Jürgen Praxaze was responsible for data collection, editing and publication.
When President Ilthio Greek Vahal was elected on 31 May 2015, he outlawed political parties of the extreme left and extreme right, the Communist Party and the Single Alliance for Orthodox and Racial Reservation Party. The bannings were appealed to the Supreme Court, which reversed them, and President Vahal resigned in advance of the elections.
On 1 January 2016, the first Calendar of Timeria was created, which included specific dates to celebrate events and activities coinciding with the Greco-Latin tradition and important commemorative dates for the Timerians. During the creation and after the approval of the calendar there were debates in Timeria society because minority religious denominations such as the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Timeria denounced that President Wiew Wers gave privileges and advantages to the Hellenistic pagans in the Timerian Calendar.
On 26 April, Senate elections were held, in which for the first time in Timeria the calculation of the distribution of seats was carried out according to a method other than the d`Hondt Law, this time with the Schulze Method. The elections were won by the Liberal Party, and Orestes Seleucos took over as Consul of the Republic. The election results provoked a very controversial response by supporters of the Humanist Collective coalition, composed of the Socialist Party, the Workers Party and the Greens in Timeria, who organized a legislative initiative to collect signatures and remove the senators. On 6 May 2017, the Iudex Maximus of the Collegium Iudicum of Timeria, Aegon Kroisos, after the results of the People's Legislative Initiative: Call for the Dismissal of Senators, resolved to dismiss all the positions in the Senate, dissolve the Officium of the Republic and call for new elections to the Senate and a constitutional reform to regulate the elections before 22 May. On 8 May new elections were held to the Senate in which the Socialist Party won 3 seats, the National Party won 3 seats. Gaius Naevius Marcallas was appointed Consul of the Republic.
On 24 July 2017, the Senate dismissed Gaius Naevius Marcallas for failing to fulfil his responsibilities and for not taking charge of coordinating the activity in the nation. The Senate unanimously appointed Drakon Herodotus as the new Consul of the Republic.
On 11 September 2017, the Officium of the Republic carried out profound reforms without the prior approval of the Senate of the Republic, modifying through them the official language of Timeria, changing to English, the official institutions, and proceeding to a massive registration in the Census of Citizens, including new ones coming from Orfalia. On 13 September 2017, Senator Archesilaus Charopos filed an appeal of unconstitutionality against the various resolutions and reforms approved by the Officium and the Senate of the Republic, modifying through them the official language of Timeria, the official institutions and proceeding to a massive registration in the Census of Citizens. The Constitutional Court decided to uphold this appeal of unconstitutionality in its entirety and, consequently, to declare all the reforms and amendments appealed against unconstitutional and null and void. Senate elections were held on 15 September, in which the Socialist Party won 4 seats and the National Party 2 seats. Wiew Wers was appointed as the Consul of the Republic.
On 15 March 2018, the Consul of the Republic, Wiew Wers, prohibited the holding and organization of bets of any kind in all of Timeria. The reform had already been demanded for two years by important sectors of the Socialist Party and the National Party, although it was not taken into consideration until the bursting of a betting bubble in mid-2017, which generated a high inflation in the Timerian dinar.

The Timeria - Timerian Space Agency was created to contribute to GLORIA. Timeria has contributed to the Telescopio Abierto Divulgación de Tenerife (Spain), obtaining the first nationwide space image on 12 february 2015.
Medical Research Program 2015
Stanford University's Folding@home project[2] program was opened on 6 April 2015 and completed on 12 May 2015. The nation has spent a total of 449 hours on the program, with nearly 15 full days of work based on research hours.
Vandalism and the creation of the Kingdom of Orfalia
In the summer of 2015, the number of websites and blogs claiming to be the legitimate Timeria multiplied. In the face of escalating tension and conflict, on 23 August Timeria was integrated into Orfalia, a new nation created by President Wiew Wers. The idea was very controversial and provoked a strong rejection in a wide sector of the citizenship.
Independence and leaving Orfalia
On 5 December 2015, Timeria regained its independence when it was approved in a referendum to leave Orfalia on the proposal of President Ilthio Greek Vahal.
The Monarchist Restoration Initiative
On 12 February 2016, the Emperor of Orfalia, Aggelos I of Imvrassia, with the support of the former King Hermenegild, presented a popular legislative initiative to restore the monarchy in Timeria. The initiative was supported by the National Party and rejected by the other parties. It did not prosper.
Territorial Reform]
On 6 February 2016, Socialist Party member Gaius Sergius Primus presented the People's Legislative Initiative: Territorial Question, which proposed the creation of provinces to accelerate the development of Timeria and improve commercial activity. The initiative received a great deal of support from citizens' signatures and was unanimously approved on 13 March in the Senate. The first provinces to be created were those of historical cultural heritage in Timeria, such as Serralia and the Timerian Community of Moriel. In August of 2016 the provinces of Serralia, Herculano, Hermenepolis and Comunidad Timeria de Moriel had been created.

Fall of the Third Senatorial Republic of Timeria

Due to deep divisions and clashes between Consul Wiew Wers, who was in favour of making a transition from Timeria to a model of cultural association, and other currents led by the National Party and the Liberal Party who were in favour of making a transition in Timeria to abandon the Greco-Latin culture and make the nation more modern, the clashes led to the collapse and definitive fall of the Third Republic in the summer of 2018, with Consul Wiew Wers signing the disintegration of the Republic on 10 June.

Fourth Senatorial Republic of Timeria

After almost a year of negotiations between all the currents in the nation, the Senatorial Republic of Timeria was restored on 11 November 2019, and elections to the Senate were held on the 15th, with Isacio Arcadio Straton being elected Consul of the Republic the following day.
Constituent Process and Territorial Reform
Since taking office as Consul of the Republic, Isaac Arcadio undertook numerous reforms that culminated in a constitutional process from which came the Constitution of 2019, which abolished self-government in the provinces of Timeria, which from then on would be organized through the Comitia Tributa. Numerous reforms were also included to give maximum power to the investors who donate most to the nation, being members of the Comitia Centuriata, the supreme legislative body above the Senate.
The new Constitution came into force on 31 December 2019, after being approved in a referendum. From then on, all the institutions, which had maintained the same organization since the beginning of the Republic, were completely transformed into an unitary parliamentary constitutional republic.
